ReplyDeleteAt first I thought these questions were a little "unsophisticated" but I think they may be workable. (You do want to avoid questions like "Should I have a dog as a best friend?"--these annotations forms are more impersonal and fact-based than that, and don't use first person I.) something about the emotional connection of people to pets is certainly a question. The cost issue is another. You might write a para. about famous man-dog pairs in literature or movies (Lassie and Tommy, Buck in that Jack London novel, etc.) I do like the question about pet therapy for the elderly. The connection from the dog' perspective is interesting too (about whether dog misses the human). The question of how to introduce babies into families with dogs seems to be suggested by the picture? So I think this could work!
The picture is my husband and our dog Winston watching the fireworks in the window. Winston has his arm over John's arm. Not sure where the baby thing comes in :)
ReplyDeleteI am working on getting a different picture

ReplyDeleteThese questions are better! I'm not quite sure what you're getting at with the first one, though (have relationships changed over time?) The first three sources (the ones in MLA format) seem a little better as sources than the two websites. You do need a few more questions though. You might want to look for a book or two (not to read the whole thing! but to use index to find ideas for questions and some info). I did a quick search on dog human bond on Amazon and found quite a few that looked interesting. Don't buy books! but you can use Amazon to find author/titles, then look for them at library. Maybe something about working dogs? dogs saving people's lives? service dogs? This gives you a good place to start though.
