Computers

What is a computer?
How have computers changed over the years?
How have they changed how we live?
Are flat screen monitors better?
How are computers used in daily life?

This is my new topic.

These are examples of questions that are tied too closely just to this particular action figure. They ask for very specific answers that can be answered by a sentence rather than a paragraph, and they don't have the "intellectual depth" I'd like to see in a college-level research paper. You might ask a question like what are the psychological effects of playing with action figures maybe, but I'm not sure if you can come up with three or four other questions of this depth. If you can (and others, make some suggestions!!), this may be workable; otherwise you might be better off coming up with another topic.

  2. I think computers will work better, but here the issue is that it's such a HUGE topic! Can you think of a way to narrow it down? Maybe computers in retail? or education? or some sector of society? Or maybe something about the "smart house"? (I read somewhere about Bill Gates' house and all the tech gadgets it has in it--maybe you could find a picture?) Also I've heard about the possibility of tyng in computers and TV so that when you see a dress on an actress you click on it and go to store website to buy it. I'm just throwing out ideas, but look for something like that, a more specific application of computers so that you're researching something interesting that we don't already (pretty much) know about.
